LAHORE: Reflecting the government’s “Roshan Punjab” initiative and “Clean and Green Pakistan”, Minister for Energy Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik and Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid launched solarisation of basic health units of Punjab (Phase-II) project by holding a signing ceremony here on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, Dr Rashid said with the advent of green energy the basic health units of Sargodha, Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin would be harnessing the power of sun. “The solar solutions will not only ensure constant energy supply but also reduce the ever increasing energy and maintenance cost of facilities,” she added.

“We are thankful to the Punjab Energy Department for helping us in providing best healthcare facilities with constant supply of the most sustainable form of energy to the masses of Pakistan,” she said.

Dr Akhtar said the project would not only ensure annual savings for the health sector of Pakistan but would also facilitate in stabilizing the economy. Under the mission of Solarisation of Punjab -- Mr Arif Mansoor Qaisrani -- Project Director (PMU) signed document for the provision of green energy to the 227 basic health units of Sargodha, Jhelum and Mandi Bahauddin.

While sharing the project credentials with media, he said:“The project will be adding a total of 681KW to the national grid while eventually making the country an energy independent state. The state of the art solutions will provide a monthly saving of Rs1.7 million and approximately Rs20 million annually. Moreover, the project will ensure massive reduction in the carbon footprint of Punjab and will be equivalent to the plantation of 13,620 trees across Pakistan.”

At a press conference, Mr Faheem Ijaz – MD E Cube Solutions mentioned: “Pakistan is an energy independent state, we ought to develop reliable energy solutions for the basic health units of Punjab while making our country self-sufficient in the energy resources. Hence, we are promising a greener tomorrow for upcoming generations.”

Both the ministries including Energy & Health pledged to work hand in hand in helping out the masses by energizing their lives.

LAND BANK: In a bid to have complete record of state land retrieved from land grabbers, the Punjab government has decided to establish computerized land bank in Board of Revenue.

The core objective behind developing the land bank is to ensure the entire information related to land retrieved from the unlawful occupants available in the record, land’s further utilization, allocation, departments / custodians concerned, complete addresses (districts, tehsils, union councils), names of land grabbers and other information.”The centralised system of land bank is being established in Board of Revenue where data of state land of 36 districts will be collected and stored. This data will be collected from the deputy commissioners of the districts. The data would also consist of the state land retrieved from the land grabbers / illegal occupants, cost of land and other relevant information,” Provincial Minister for Revenue Malik Muhammad Anwar told reporters at a press conference at his office on Wednesday.

He requested the public at large to inform the department regarding illegal occupation of state land anywhere in Lahore and other districts and tehsils of the province.

RAILWAYS: Pakistan Railways Police Administration on Wednesday issued transfer / posting orders of various officers.

According to a spokesman, Riaz Ahmad Bisal was posted as SP (Rawalpindi Division), Raja Zaheer, AIG (Admin), Malik Muhammad Attiq, SP (Lahore Division), Niaz Ahmad (acting SP Peshawar), Mehr Kausar Abbas (acting SP, Multan), Amjad Manzoor (acting SP Sukkar) and Jawad Ahmad (acting SP, Workshop Division, Lahore).
