KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has removed municipal commissioners of districts Central and Korangi and warned managing director of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to resolve the public complaints regarding water supply and sewerage system.

The local government minister issued these directives while chairing a meeting regarding development schemes of Karachi on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by Sindh Minister for Education and Labour Saeed Ghani as well as other relevant officials.

Secretary Local Government Najam Ahmed Shah, Administrator KMC Laeeq Ahmed were also present.

The meeting participants reviewed the ongoing development works in Karachi.

The PPP office-bearers complained about the KWSB, saying that its officers did not listen to them in solving public complaints about water supply and sewerage issues.

Mr Shah said that on special directives of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the meeting had been convened for solving problems of people of Karachi.

“The water board should focus on closing leakages in the city so that the roads are not damaged,” it was observed. Minister Saeed Ghani stated that other political parties were trying to take credit of development schemes of the Sindh government, adding that attempts were made to create the impression that development schemes in Karachi were being carried out with a federal government package.
