QUETTA: The Election Com­mis­sion of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday started issuing nomination papers for the Senate elections with an instruction to would-be candidates not to spend more than Rs1.5 million on campaigning.

In a statement issued here, the Election Commission of Pakistan said election schedule would be announced on Feb 11 by the election commissioner of Balochistan.

The statement further said that interested candidates could collect nomination papers from the election commission secretary and provincial offices from 9am to 5pm.

All political parties and candidates have been asked to attach their party tickets at the time of submitting nomination papers.

The statement further said that candidates were not allowed to use any bank account, except one and in that account Rs1.5 million could be deposited and later spent on campaigning.
