Batman’s son is getting a new identity

The son of Batman has abandoned the Robin name for a solo career. Damian Wayne has been Robin since he first beat the title out of Tim Drake in 2006, but he decided he’s outgrown the title after growing tension between himself, his dad Bruce Wayne, and the Teen Titans. Detective Comics #1033 makes the split official as Batman offers his son one more chance to reconcile and Damian chooses a different path.

Detective Comics #1033 is written by Peter J. Tomasi with pencils by Brad Walker, inks from Andrew Hennessy, colour by Dave McCaig, and lettering by Rob Leigh.

Damian’s new identity will be explored in a two-part backup story titled “Demon or Detective” that begins in Batman #106 and ends in Detective Comics #1034, both releasing March 2021. It’s unclear whether Damian will take on a new codename at all, although with his assassin gear, he might pick something related to his heritage.

Drake delays his sixth album

To the disappointment of Drake’s fans, his most anticipated sixth studio album has been delayed. The rapper announced the news via his Instagram Story.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehab, my energy has been dedicated to recovery,” Drake wrote. “I’ve been blessed to be back on my feet, feeling great, and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.”

Drake had surgery on his knee in October, caused by a torn ACL. Drake dropped a highly athletic music video for the first single off of Certified Lover Boy, “Laugh Now Cry Later,” in August, but, unfortunately, the rest of the album will have to wait until sometime in 2021.

Lady Gaga-themed cookies!

In December 2020, Oreo announced its most glamorous cookie yet — “Chromatica”, in collaboration with superstar Lady Gaga, named after her sixth studio album.

Now the cookies are finally here! According to a representative for the brand, the Gaga-themed Oreo cookies are “pink-coloured golden Oreo cookies with green coloured creme and feature three Chromatica-inspired cookie embossments.”

Oreo is celebrating the release with a digital scavenger hunt, with digital clues posted hourly from Oreo’s Twitter. Each of these clues, inspired by Lady Gaga’s “Chromatica” album, and “Little Monsters” (as Gaga fans are known) can enter to win pink packs of Oreos signed by Gaga herself. Entrants just need to reply to the tweet with the correct answer and tag.
