SWABI: The administration of the Women’s University here on Friday sacked deputy registrar Muneeba Gul and director (medical services) Dr Farhana Azeem over indiscipline.

Separate letters of termination were issued to both staff members. They, however, didn’t mention reason for the move.

The sacked deputy registrar told Dawn that she had formally requested the administration for service restoration but the administration insisted that it hadn’t received any such application.

In a statement, the university’s administration said Dr Farhana Azeem and Muneeba Gul were involved in serious indiscipline and defiance towards the university’s rules and sanctity.

“Both (Dr Farhana and Muneeba), on various occasions, misbehaved with senior faculty and staff members, including registrar, and showed dictatorial attitude towards their colleagues and subordinates.

“Dr Farhana refused to pay house rent despite using university facility and openly defied the university policies.”

The administration said the vice-chancellor received many complaints against both staff members and when they were called to explain their positions on the matter, they even misbehaved with the vice-chancellor prompting the registrar to intervene.

“Dr Farhana resigned, while Muneeba Gul was relieved from the service in accordance with her job contract,” it said.

The administration also claimed that after their relieving from service, both Dr Farhana and Muneeba tried to manipulate staff members and levelled baseless allegations against senior staff and faculty members.

It insisted that it had followed the university’s rules and act and service contracts of the two employees.
