QUETTA: As Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Friday, rallies and seminars were organised by political parties, religious organisations, NGOs and tribes in which speakers condemned Indian security forces’ atrocities in the occupied valley and killing of innocent people, including women.

The speakers expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed their political and moral support to their ongoing freedom struggle.

In Quetta, main function held at the lawns of the Balochistan Assembly was attended by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani, provincial ministers, MPAs and leaders of political parties.

A large rally was also taken out in Quetta which was led by Governor of Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and participated by several thousands of people who marched on various roads of the city.

Alyani condemns major powers’ indifferent attitude towards Indian atrocities

Speaking at the Kashmir Day function, the chief minister condemned the silence and indifferent attitude of the world’s major powers to India’s atrocities and gross human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He urged the international community to use its influence for resolving Kashmir issue.

He regretted that the Western powers ignored the Modi government’s fascism and atrocities against minorities, particularly Muslims.

The chief minister said that it was the responsibility of conscientious people of the world to raise their voice against the Indian government and its security forces as a human tragedy was evolving in held Kashmir as a result of continued repression by Indian forces.

“We want to send a message to the Kashmiri people that we stand with them and will always be with them and soon they will get rid of Indian tyranny,” he said.

“We want security and peace in the region, but we want to make it clear that for peace and stability, oppression and injustice must end,” Mr Alyani said.

To observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, rallies were staged in Chagai, Dalbandin, Khuzdar, Sibi, Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Nushki, Mashkel, Panjgur, Gwadar, Turbat, Loralai, Zhob, Pishin, Chaman and other towns of the province.
