RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) on Saturday lodged FIRs against owners of five illegal housing schemes.

RDA Director General Chaudhry Maqbool Ahmed along with Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate’s staff visited Defense Road and Caltex Road Rawalpindi and inspected Morgah Hills, T&T Colony, T&T Colony Extension, Jabbar Colony and Wadya Homes.

RDA registered FIRs against owners of these illegal housing schemes namely Chaudhry Mohammad Jahangir, Nazim Bashir, Syed Abdul Wahid, Jabbar Khan and retired Col Mohammad Tariq.

The spokesman for the RDA has appealed to citizens to refrain from buying and selling plots in the housing schemes which had been declared illegal by RDA.

However, cases registered against owners of the illegal housing societies for setting up unauthorised housing schemes despite the RDA’s directives.

If the housing schemes fulfill the legal requirements, they will be given assistance.
