KARACHI: An antiterrorism court (ATC) acquitted on Wednesday banned Peoples Amn Committee chief Uzair Baloch and his accomplice in three more cases of attempt to murder and possession of explosives after prosecution failed to prove the charges against them.
The alleged Lyari kingpin along with his one detained and several absconding accomplices was charged with wounding people in three grenade attacks carried out in Kalri area in April 2012.
On Wednesday, the ATC-VIII judge pronounced his verdict.
The judge observed that the prosecution failed to prove the charges against accused Uzair Baloch and Tariq Aziz aka Siapat. Therefore, the judge exonerated them by extending the ‘benefit of doubt’.
