KARACHI: The Karachi Talent Hunt Inter-District Men’s Hockey League commenced at the KHA sports complex in Gulshan Iqbal from Wednesday in which teams of seven districts of the city are competing.

The teams have been divided into two pools with Pool ‘A’ comprising District Malir, District West, District Kemari & District South and Pool ‘B’ containing District East , District Korangi & District Central.

Top two Teams from each pool will qualify for the semifinals that will be played on Feb 22. The final will be played on Feb 23.

The tournament carries lucrative prizes for the top teams. The winner will be awarded Rs 100,000 while the runners up will gets Rs 50,000. Besides that, a brand new 70cc motorcycle will be presented to Man of The Tournament while top goal-scorer and Best Goalkeeper of tournament will be awarded Rs 10,000. Rupees 3000 will be awarded to every Man of The Match.

According to KHA Secretary General Haider Hussain strict disciplinary rules have been framed for the event and no compromise will be made on them as well on the SOPs.

The tournament is being organized under the PHF vision to promote the game at the grassroots level. KHA senior vice president Dr S A Majid has been appointed as Tournament Director while Chairman KHA Gulfaraz Ahmed will be the Organizing Secretary.
