University of Lahore, BZU, PU win in Inter-varsity women football

KARACHI: University of Lahore thrashed Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology (KFUEIT) 8-0 while Bahauddin Zakaria University, Multan (BZU) outplayed Women University Multan 7-0 and University of Punjab (PU) beat NED University 6-0 in the HEC All Pakistan Inter-varsity Women Football Championship here at NED University of Engineering and Technology’s new FIFA standard synthetic football field on Friday.

Twelve teams from across Pakistan are taking part in the championship.

Syed Imtiaz Ali Shah, Secretary Sindh Sports & Youth Affairs, Sindh, inaugurated the championship as chief guest and assured all support from Govt of Sindh for promotion of sports in the universities. Vice-chancellor University of Karachi Prof. Dr Khalid Iraqi, who was guest of honour, emphasised on the importance of sports activities in the universities while Vice-chancellor of NED university Prof. Dr Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi welcomed the participating universities from all over Pakistan and said that the credit of massive sports developments at the NED University goes to the CM Murad Ali Shah who is himself a graduate of the NED.
