KARACHI: Askari Club overcame stiff challenge from Mumba Squad in the final to win 55-48 and clinch the Honda Atlas Cup basketball title at the jam-packed Arambagh-Abdul Nasir courts here on Sunday night.

Anas Usman (18 pts) and Saifullah Nosherwani (17 pts) of Askari Club were the architects of victory and were declared Man of the Tournament and Man of the final respectively for their outstanding performance.

Syed Bakhtiar scored (13 pts). For the losing side Talha Khattak (15 pts) and Saad Khan (13 pts) played well.

Teruki Hatano, CEO Honda Atlas Power, was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the prizes.

Speaking on the occasion, Teruki assured to hold and support the tournament regularly from now on and praised the high standard of basketball displayed.

Advocate Ghulam Abbas Jamal also announced to hold a tournament on behalf of the lawyers’ fraternity.

PTF vice president Khalid Shamsi, PSWA head Shahida Parveen, Imtiaz Sheikh, KBBA president Ghulam Mohammad and other were also present.
