PESHAWAR: A wounded snow leopard which was shifted from Chitral to Peshawar Zoo for treatment on Saturday died due to severe injuries on Monday, officials said.

An official of the wildlife department said the animal was in very precarious condition as her spinal cord was fractured.

“The animal could not crawl because of injuries and was not recoverable though veterinarians tried their best to save her life,” he said, adding local volunteers had rescued the leopard in wounded condition and informed sub-divisional wildlife officer in Chitral about it.

The animal was immediately shifted to Peshawar for treatment. They said the leopard suffered serious injuries and was also dehydrated after falling from a height.
