SAHIWAL: A local singer and dancer was allegedly subjected to physical torture and rape by her trainer at her house here a couple of days back.

According to the City Police Station in charge, Irfan Ali, in her complaint, the dancer (name withheld as per the newspaper’s policy), a resident of Dispensary Road area, said her dance trainer ‘T’ wanted to develop relations with her and harass her on phone.

She said that when she informed her father about his advances, he stopped the trainer from visiting their house.

She said that on Feb 26 night, she was alone at her house when the suspect armed with a pistol barged in.

She alleged the suspect tortured her physically, tied her up and subjected her to rape.

According to police, the suspect had been in contact with the woman for the last five years.

The SHO said the complainant’s medical examination had been conducted and a case registered against the suspect who was in hiding.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the suspect, he added.
