SWABI: The district police conducted a mock rescue operation at a hospital here on Thursday on how to protect the patients in case of an emergency.

The operation was conducted on the directives of district police officer Imran Shahid and all the DSPs and SHOs participated in it. It was aimed at dealing with any eventuality in the district hospitals and health centres. Members of other related bodies also participated in the mock exercise to enhance their coordination.

Mr Shahid said on the occasion that such exercises would help all the concerned departments and prepare them for any emergency situation and making a strategy while keeping in mind the national requirements.

During the operation, a mock contact was made with the police department about surfacing of a difficult situation and the police force responded and acted accordingly.

The DSPs said the rehearsal was held to make the patients and health department staff more confident that they were safe and could perform their duty without any fear while treating the ailing community. They said that such exercises were vital to prepare for dealing with an emergency situation.
