BAHAWALPUR: A minor girl was raped by an unidentified man in the fields of Chak 51/DB in the Yazman police area.

According to police , the victim, a student of class IV, was lured by a man to the fields where he allegedly raped her. On hearing her screams, the people rushed to the scene while the suspect escaped.

On the complaint of the girl’s father, Muhammad Azam, police registered a case against the unidentified suspect and sent the girl to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Yazman for medical examination.

KILLED: A man was allegedly shot dead by unidentified persons near village Mahmood Shaheed in Saddar police area of Ahmedpur East.

The police sources said the deceased, Dilshad Ahmed, was travelling on his motorcycle when he was targeted.

Saddar police sent the body to the THQ Hospital Ahmedpur East for a post-mortem and registered a murder case against unidentified persons.

ARRESTED: The Cantt police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender after three years.

According to police, Waseem was wanted in an alleged acid attack.

In another development, the Kotwali police arrested two car lifters, namely Taimur and Liaquat, and recovered a stolen car from their possession.
