THIS refers to the news report ‘Justice Isa says he’s fighting for future of judiciary’ (March 3). Referring to the dismemberment of Pakistan, Justice Isa was quoted as having expressed extreme anguish at the surrender of 90,000 Pakistani soldiers before the Indians and the act of hushing up the Hamoodur Rehman report owing to security issues.

Considering the fact that the Lahore Resolution was moved by A.K. Fazlul Huq, the sitting chief minister of Bengal, and was adopted on March 23, 1940, the justice should have been distressed more by the mistreatment of Bengalis which had ultimately led to the debacle.
