CHARSADDA/ABBOTTABAD: The authorities have imposed micro smart lockdown in different areas of Charsadda and Abbottabad districts to put brakes on spread of coronavirus.

Schools were also sealed in Charsadda, Abbottabad and Swabi after students tested positive for Covid-19.

In Charsadda, Deputy Commissioner Adil Shah imposed micro smart lockdown in different areas while Government Shaheed Saifullah Durani High School was closed after a 6th grader tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday.

The areas where lockdown has been imposed include Bali Koruna, Chitral Sardarabad Kalley Sar Dheri, Chitral Koruna Charsadda, Bilal Colony Sar Dheri, Service Delivery Charsadda, Pattak Koruna Sar Dheri and Bridge Kallay.

Schools closed over Covid-19 cases

In Abbottabad, the district administration imposed smart lockdown in eight areas and also sealed a school in Havelian after surge in Covid-19 cases.

According to a notification the lockdown will remain imposed in the areas including Chamba village, Rich Behaan, Kohla Kehal, Banda Said Khan, Lamba Mera, House No 41 in Habibullah Colony for five consecutive days and can be extended to other areas till the situation improves.

The action was taken on the recommendation of health department. Pakistan City Public School was also closed down over detection of coronavirus. In Swabi, the district administration closed down a high school for girls after receiving report regarding six coronavirus cases in the institution.

A notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mehmmod said that in pursuance of the reported positive Covid-19 cases and keeping in view recommendation of the district health officer, the competent authority was pleased to seal government girls high school Swabi for a period of 10 days till further order.

An official, when contacted, said that after 10 days, situation would be reviewed and in the light of district health officer another decision to keep the school close or open would be made.

Dr Arif, the focal official for coronavirus in the district, said that among the six positive patients of coronavirus, four were teachers and two were students. They were isolated in their homes and their treatment continued under the supervision of the competent doctors, he added.

“We are monitoring the coronavirus situation in the district. We have educated the officials of education department and students about the precautionary measures,” said Dr Arif.
