LAKKI MARWAT: Unknown motorcyclists shot dead a policeman near toll plaza on the Indus Highway here late on Tuesday night.

Police said that constable Mohammad Mustafa came under fire when he was going to his village on a motorcycle after performing his duty in Dadiwala police station. The wounded policeman breathed his last on way to a hospital.

GIRL RECOVERED: Police reunited a ‘missing’ girl with her parents in Bannu city on Wednesday.

A police official said Ms Gulalai, a resident of Domel area of Bannu, had been kidnapped from the limits of cantonment police station four years ago. He said the abductors had reportedly shifted her to Khost province of Afghanistan.

A police official said a team headed by SP Investigation Zia Hasan secured safe release of the kidnapped girl aged about 13 years. He said two kidnappers, including a woman, had also been arrested.

He said the girl was handed over to her parents at a ceremony in Bannu city.
