QUETTA: Balochistan Governor Amanullah Khan Yasinzai has ordered the directors of development projects going on in the universities across the province to complete them without delay.

While presiding over a meeting to review the ongoing development projects under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in all public sector universities of the province at Governor House on Wednesday, he said no delay or negligence on the quality of work would be tolerated.

Vice Chancellor of Bolan Medical University Prof Dr Naqibullah Achakzai, Director General Monitoring of HEC Noor Amana, HEC representative Syed Naveed Shah, Principal Secretary to the Governor Shahnawaz Ali, Additional Secretary of the Governor Secretariat Nadeem Samalani and the project directors attended the meeting.

Ms Amana informed the meeting that 19 development projects at 14 campuses of nine public sector universities in Balochistan, which had been included in the Federal Public Sector Development Programme, were being implemented through the HEC.

The meeting was informed that the pace of work of these projects had slowed down due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but full attention was being paid to complete them as soon as possible.

The meeting discussed financial matters of the universities and in particular provision of funds from the federation, award of scholarships and capacity building of manpower.

It took a number of important decisions in light of the recommendations and suggestions of the participants of the meeting on the ongoing development projects.
