TAXILA: Hazro police solved a trader’s murder case and arrested his son who confessed to having killed his father over a property dispute.

Sub Divisional Police Officer Hazro circle Zaigham Abbas told journalists on Friday that the body of Banaras Khan was found from his house on March 7. He said the victim was strangled to death. Police picked up the deceased’s son on suspicion, who told the interrogators that he murdered his father to get his property.

Meanwhile, Attock police arrested 20 suspects and recovered illegal arms, drugs and other banned items.

According to a police spokesman, 2.2 kg of hashish was recovered from Safiullah and 1.1kg from Babar Hussain.

Police sources said six people were arrested during a raid at a gambling den in village Akhori.

Gambling tools, bet money and vehicles were also seized.

Fatehjang police arrested six suspects while they were gambling and seized bet money, gambling tools and a motorcycle.

In village Marri, 50 bottles of liquor were seized from a liquor den. Injra police and Bassal police recovered klashinkovs along with rounds.

Hassanabdal police arrested two kite sellers and recovered kites. Jand police also arrested a kite seller and recovered 35 kites and 4 string rolls from his possession.

Respective police have registered separate cases and started further investigation.
