MARDAN: Former MPA of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Zahid Khan Durrani has joined the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan along with his family members and friends.

He made an announcement in this respect in a presser here on Saturday.

TLP provincial chief Dr Shafiq Ameeni and leader Malik Falak Naz were also present.

Mr Durani accused the PTI of violating its constitution and manifesto and said he was expelled by it over the false allegation of horse-trading in the 2018 Senate elections.

He said he had already moved the high court for get himself cleared on the matter.

TLP leader Dr Shafiq claimed that one of the federal ministers from Karachi met him few days ago and offered him Senate tickets and billions of rupees cash for withdrawing the call for the expulsion of the French ambassador over blasphemous cartoons.

“We [TLP] will never make any compromise on the cartoon issue,” he said.

He warned that if the French envoy wasn’t sent back by the government until April 20, his party would stage street protests.

STUDENT KILLED: A student of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan was killed near Wapda Office in Pohan Colony late on Friday.

Owais, a 22-year-old BS student, was gunned down by two unidentified motorcyclists as he was on the way to home from Mukam Square along with a friend.

The deceased’s father, Mohammad Fayaz, told police that his family members had no enmity.

The police said they had begun investigation to trace killers. However, no arrest was made afterward.
