KARACHI: The 62nd Sindh Sports Board STA Development Series Ranking Tennis Championship will be played at the Union Cooperative Club here from Saturday March 27 to April 2.

The event is being organised by the Sindh Tennis Association in collaboration with the Karachi Tennis Association.

Para Sports Pakistan, Pakistan Soft Tennis Association are providing technical support for wheelchair Tennis & Soft Tennis events respectively. Sports Department, Govt of Sindh, will sponsor the weeklong championships.

The events to be contested include men’s singles, ladies singles, juniors U-17, U-15, U-13, U-11, U-9 and U-7 singles besides men’s doubles, soft tennis men’s and ladies singles and doubles and wheelchair men’s singles.

The under-9 and under-7 singles will be played with modified soft tennis balls on mini courts.

Beach tennis events are also included and will be held on Sunday April 11. The beach tennis equipment is provided by world famous equipment producers Sandever through International Tennis Federation (ITF).

All outstation players are entitled to economy class railway fare and daily allowance as per STA rules. Last date of entry is March 25 which can be sent to Muhammad Khalid Rehmani (tournament director & referee) at WhatsApp Numbers, 0300-3607209 or 0336-2094285.

The organising committee comprises Khwaja Saeed Hai (chairman), Gulzar Feroze (president) Dr. Nadia Razzaq, Zafar Hasan and Shakil Aslam.
