KARACHI: Two men were shot dead in the Zaman Town area of Korangi on Friday evening, said police. They added that Ismail, 30, and Rafiq Noor, 25, were gunned down inside the Chakra Goth graveyard.

Landhi SP Shahnawaz Chachar said both victims had gone to the graveyard to offer prayer at a grave where they were attacked.

They suffered critical bullet wounds and were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

The Landhi SP claimed that the attackers were accompanying the victims and were stated to be familiar with them.

The officer added that exact motive for the double murder was being investigated.

Another officer, who wished not to be named, said that four people riding two motorbikes were seen going to a mazar inside the graveyard at around 4pm on Friday.

When they came out from the shrine, a scuffle broke out between them. Two suspects opened fire on them and fled.

Rafiq suffered a single bullet wound in his head while Ismail received two bullet wounds in the upper torso.
