Malala Yousafzai partners with Apple TV+

Malala Yousafzai, the women’s rights activist and Nobel Peace laureate, has partnered with the tech giant Apple, to create original programming for its Apple TV+ streaming service. With her new production company Extracurricular, Yousafzai will produce animation, children’s series, dramas, comedies and documentaries.

Apple TV+’s animation slate includes the feature Wolfwalkers, the series Snoopy in Space and Central Park, and the short film Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth. The streamer has signed deals with the likes of the Maurice Sendak Foundation and Skydance Animation, acquiring the latter’s first two features Luck and Spellbound.


LEGO takes fans into ‘Hundred Acre Wood’

The LEGO Group is taking a nostalgic walk through Hundred Acre Wood, with the launch of LEGO Winnie the Pooh, a set based on the original designs from LEGO builder Ben Adler.

Taking inspiration from the tales of A.A. Milne’s adventures of Christopher Robin, the new LEGO Winnie the Pooh launch will take fans on a journey beneath a large oak tree, where Pooh’s house takes centre stage.

The house can be opened up to unveil a host of furniture and unique items, such as the Pooh-coo Clock, a box of Pooh sticks, Tigger’s locket, and plenty of honey pots.

LEGO superfan Ben Alder originally submitted the concept to LEGO Ideas; a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality.

Thenew setincludes five new mouldedcharacters, each with their own accessories. Pooh has his red balloon, Tigger has just moved to the woods with his sack on a stick, meanwhile,Rabbit has carrots ready for snacking, and Eeyore comes complete with his tailand a removable ribbon.


Nickelodeon announces The Patrick Star Show

Nickelodeon announced a new SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff focusing on a younger Patrick, titled The Patrick Star Show.

Patrick and his family star in the animated family sitcom, which will air on Nickelodeon this summer. The network has ordered 13 episodes. The Patrick Star Show will follow a young Patrick as he hosts his own television show for his neighbourhood. Patrick’s sister Squidina, parents Bunny and Cecil and grandpa GrandPat will also be featured.

The Patrick Star Show is the second SpongeBob SquarePants spinoff following Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years.
