Soccer: Wohaib and Navy share spoils

Published October 16, 2005

RAWALPINDI, Oct 15: Nomi Martin’s first half penalty conversion helped Pakistan Navy hold Wohaib Club 1-1 in the Premier League soccer at Army Stadium on Friday night.

Striker Shahbaz put Wohaib in front in the 14th minute before Nomi cancelled out the lead by converting a penalty kick in the 29th minute.

The two teams were unable to break 1-1 stalemate despite some fine attacks in the second period.

Thrashed 10-0 by Pakistan Army only a couple of days back, Wohaib salvaged some pride with this 1-1 draw.

Though beaten 2-1 by PTCL on Thursday night, Wapda still are the leaders with 41 points.—APP
