PESHAWAR: Coalition for Inclusive Pakistan, a group of civil society organisations, has demanded of the government to allocate quota in its and local body jobs for transgender persons and those with disabilities on the pattern of seats reserved for women.

Member of transgender community Qatrina and representative of persons with disabilities Ihsanullah Daudzai told a news conference here on Thursday that the government should ensure the provision of all constitutional rights to transgender persons and persons with disabilities.

They said the people with disabilities and transgender community also wanted to play their role in the mainstream politics and therefore, they wanted opportunities for the purpose.

According to them, the local bodies could play a significant role in the development of the country, so members of their communities want to be part of the LG system.

They said the persons with disabilities and transgender community faced serious problems due to unavailability of representation in assemblies and Senate.
