KARACHI: Allama Haider Abbas Abidi, leader of the Joint Action Committee for Shia Missing Persons, says that for the last seven years, “our Shia mourners have been missing in narrow and unconstitutional prisons. No one will ask them about their families. For the last many years, every door has been knocked for the recovery of missing persons,” says a statement.

The Constitution is being violated again and again, it was stated. Forcible disappearance of patriotic people is a violation of Article 10 of the Constitution. Voices have been raised in front of the authorities against the violation of the Constitution but no hearing has been held.

“All Shia missing persons should be produced in court by March 31. Otherwise, the Joint Action Committee ... will hold a sit-in” at the Quaid-i-Azam’s mausoleum on April 2, it was stated, adding that the families of the disappeared from across the country will join the protest.
