KARACHI: Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh was released from jail on Saturday after he obtained bail in all the cases.
The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s leader along with dozens of party activists was booked in three cases in the provincial capital and arrested last month for allegedly instigating violence, rioting, attempted murder and causing terror during the Feb 16 PS-88 by-election, and obstructing performance of official duties and attacking officials during demolition of his farmhouse on Feb 6. The fourth case was lodged against him in the interior of Sindh.
The Sindh High Court had granted bail to the opposition leader in two cases lodged under Anti-Terrorism Act a couple of days ago while the trial courts have allowed his bail applications in the remaining cases.
