HYDERABAD: Ishrat Ali Lohar was elected president and Hashim Leghari aka Raja general secretary of the High Court Bar Asso­ciation (HCBA) Hyderabad chapter the other day.

Bagging 973 votes, Ishrat Lohar defeated Sattar Sarki who received only 318 votes in one-to-one contest.

Hashim Leghari got 626 votes and defeated Irfan Bughio who bagged 397 votes. Bhagwan Das Bheel defeated Wali Mohammad Khoso for the slot of vice president.

Iqbal Hingoro was elected joint secretary, Naveed Jarwar library secretary and Bilawal Bajeer treasurer.

All candidates contested elections as independents as no panels were formed.
