DERA GHAZI KHAN: The Rajanpur Saddar police registered a case against six people, including three nominated suspects, for manhandling and making hostage the in charge of a polio eradication team during the anti-polio campaign, sources told Dawn.

Anti-polio team worker Amir was doing field duty of the polio campaign in Kotla Naseer when he was intercepted by Nasir and his five accomplices. They made him hostage and snatched the record and key of the motorcycle.

They thrashed him and later confined him in a room. His colleagues rescued him from the captors.

The police registered a case against six assailants, including nominated people -- Nasir, Sardar and Khadim Hussain.

The station house officer told reporters the police had registered a case against six people under sections 349, 342, 186, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

He maintained the police arrested two suspects while raids were being conducted by police to arrest the remaining people.
