QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has urged the government employees to end their protest and start work for the sake of people.

He said his government had always taken positive steps for its employees, but they had adopted an unsuitable attitude.

The chief minister said that a few government employees who remained in jail in the past had misguided the oppressed workers.

He said his government was aware of the serious financial crisis being faced by Pakistan and Balochistan as well as the entire world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The government is making efforts to address the challenge in terms of development and budget matters,” he added.

Mr Alyani said it appeared that some elements wanted to increase the economic pressure on Balochistan and stop the development process which was absolutely necessary for the province.

“Therefore, the secretariat employees should start carrying out their jobs and responsibilities in an efficient manner without being misguided by some elements,” he said.

He said the employees had been given full opportunity to protest and express their grievances, but a few people used it as a political platform.

The chief minister warned those elements of action who provoked the government employees with their fiery speeches, using wrong language, making false statements and taking matters into their own hands.
