CHITRAL: Sabira Bibi of Garam Chashma, Chitral, has demanded of the provincial police chief to order immediate arrest of the killers of her son and pregnant daughter-in-law. She said that the murderers were roaming freely in Patrak village of Upper Dir.

Talking to mediapersons in Chitral Press Club, she alleged that the station house officer of Patrak was hesitant to arrest Tajuddin, Shah Khalid and the wife of a ‘hired assassin’ against whom FIR had been registered two years ago.

She said the alleged killers had been threatening her to keep mum over the murder of her son. She urged the police high-ups to provide security to her family members till arrest of all the alleged killers.

The woman’s son Waqar Ahmed was killed on Oct 28, 2019, while travelling to Chitral city to admit his wife in hospital for delivery.

PROTEST: People of Booni town violated section 144 of CrPC on Friday by organising a protest rally against the action of district administration to abort their attempt of taking possession of state land in Kagh Lusht plateau.

The protesters on the occasion alleged that the deputy commissioner of Upper Chitral was vitiating the situation by depriving the villagers of their ancestral property. They demanded of the government to transfer the DC for demolishing the water tanks they had raised for irrigating plants.

Assistant commissioner, Mastuj, Shah Adnan said they were ready to cope with any eventuality if the villagers marched towards the plateau to grab it illegally.
