QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) former leader Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani has claimed that he and his colleagues have made some suggestions to party chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for reconciliation with him.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, he said he had visited the residence of Maulana Fazl in Dera Ismail Khan two days ago to inquire about his health. He said no political agenda was discussed during the meeting, but he and his colleagues had made some suggestions for resolving the differences between them.

“If Maulana [Fazl] acts on our suggestions, we will join him again,” said Maulana Sherani, who had parted ways with the JUI-F and formed his own faction of JUI-Pakistan.

“My meeting with Maulana Fazl along with other colleagues was not political and we did not talk about politics,” he said, adding the JUI-F chief had given them respect.

Maulana Sherani said JUI-P’s Majlis-i-Shura held its weekly consultative meeting on every Thursday to discuss the party affairs.

On the occasion, Sardarzada Asad Khan Umrani announced joining the JUI-P along with his supporters.
