CHITRAL: Over 13 ambulances of the public sector hospitals have been handed over to the Rescue 1122 in line with the decision of the provincial government.

Mr Zaffar, the in-charge of Rescue-1122 Chitral, said it had taken over eight ambulances from the District Headquarters Hospital, Lower Chitral, out of which, only three were functional and the rest needed overhauling.

Besides, he said the district health officer, Lower Chitral, had handed him over five ambulances, which were in good condition.

Mr Zaffar said the DHO Upper Chitral had yet to give the rescue service the possession of four ambulances lying at his disposal.

The rescue service head said that one official each was deputed in three shifts at the emergency department of the DHQ Hospital, Lower Chitral, to ensure availability of ambulances to the critical patients being referred to Peshawar.
