BAHAWALPUR: A pack of dogs killed a minor boy and wounded two others in the suburbs of Chanigoth of tehsil Ahmedpur East on Monday.

According to the police and hospital sources, Areeb (10), the son of a labourer, along with other children was playing near his house at Basti Chak Kahal of Chanigoth town. Suddenly, the boys were attacked by a pack of dogs, which wounded three of them.

Areeb, who had suffered critical wounds, was first taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Ahmedpur East, where the doctors sent him to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital (BVH). The boy succumbed to his wounds there.

Two other boys who sustained serious injuries were under treatment at the THQ Hospital, Ahmedpur East.

It may be mentioned that during a short span of period, packs of stray dogs have claimed three lives, including that of a minor girl and a woman, around Chanigoth and tehsil Ahmedpur East.
