CHARSADDA: The foundation stone of the new campus of Bacha Khan University Charsadda was laid here by Higher Education Secretary Mohammad Daud Khan.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that educational institutions played a pivotal role in development and prosperity of any country. He added that quality education could bring economic progress, social change and political awareness. The new campus of Bacha Khan University Charsadda will be established on 800 kanals of land.

Mr Khan said that educated youth would change destiny of nation and put the country on path of progress and prosperity. He said that opportunity should be provided to youth to play role in development of Pakistan as it was their basic right.

Mohammad Idrees Khan Marwat, principal secretary to governor; Prof Dr Bashir Ahmed, the vice-chancellor of the university; Ihsanullah, additional secretary of higher education department; DPO Zebullah Khan; Deputy Commissioner Saadat Khan; project director Mohammad Ayub; registrar Syed Arif Hussain; faculty members; and administration officials also attended the event.

The secretary hoped that the vice-chancellor would continue his efforts to overcome the problems being faced the university.

Addressing on the occasion, Vice-chancellor Dr Bashir Ahmed said that establishment of new campus of the university would bring prosperity and development to the area. He hoped that provincial government would guide them for timely completion of the project.
