Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar has said that more than1.3 million people have been vaccinated against the coronavirus across Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.
Addressing a press conference, he said that currently between 60,000 to 70,000 vaccines are being administered on a daily basis. He said that the government was working to enhance the capacity to approximately 200,000 after Eidul Fitr, urging those eligible to get themselves vaccinated.
Commenting on those jumping the queue for Covid-19 vaccinations, the minister made it clear that the government had not introduced exemptions for anyone.
"The president and the prime minister waited for their turn," he said, adding that he had not gotten vaccinated as yet even though he was heading the National Command and Operation Centre and the vaccine procurement committee.
