Abbottabad make shaky start

ISLAMABAD, Oct 18: Abbottabad made a shaky start to their rain-hit Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match against Islamabad on Tuesday after both captains decided to forfeit their first innings.

In the 30 overs of play possible after the first two days of the game were washed out, Abbottabad had been reduced to 91 for five at the Diamond Cricket Ground by the close.

Ali Naqvi, with a well-played 49, top-scored for the visitors, who are making their first-class debut as a separate region.

Saad Altaf claimed 2-18 while Rao Iftikhar, Rauf Akbar and Bilal Asad took one each. Wednesday is the last day of the match.
