SAHIWAL: The local excise and taxation department has sealed the rented building of the regional passport office over nonpayment of the property tax worth Rs187,000.

Sources said the office sent multiple notices to the owner of the building for the submission of outstanding dues but to no avail.

Many visitors to the office faced inconvenience.

A woman from Pakpattan said she was to collect her new passport on Monday but now the building had been sealed.

“I’ll have to travel to the office again to get my passport.”
