TAXILA: A man was injured critically when a Rawalpindi-bound passenger train crashed into his car at an unmanned level crossing near Kanyial village in the jurisdiction of Fatehjang Police station on Thursday.

“The car driver tried to cross the railway track without noticing the approaching train that resulted in an unfortunate collision between the car and Thall Express,” said an officialof Railways (Attock division).

Talking to the media, he said a sign board was installed at the railway crossing. Further investigations into the matter are ongoing and responsible persons will be identified afterwards, he added.

A rescue team reached the spot and shifted the injured man to the hospital.

All trains between Rawalpindi – Fatehjang resumed after completion of rescue work at the rail track.
