SAHIWAL: Kameer Police on Saturday arrested a man for alleging raping his daughter at village 155/9.

Police have registered a case 137/21 under PPC 376 on the complaint of victim’s brother ‘A’.

Suspect ‘K’ is a daily wager and has three sons and as many daughters.

Police 15 received a call from the complainant who alleged that his father escaped after raping his 15-year-old sister.

The complainant said his sister was alone in one of the rooms while all others were asleep in the courtyard when his father raped her.

Investigating Officer SI Bashir Ahmed told Dawn that initial medical reports confirmed that the girl was raped. He said now police were waiting for a DNA examination report.

Police investigation revealed that there was a dispute between sons and father over the girl’s marriage proposal.

The father wanted to marry off one of the daughters with his nephew [brother’s son] while sons were arguing for another proposal.

WHEAT HOARDERS: The food department recovered 458 metric tonnes of wheat from hoarders in Sahiwal division.

Deputy Director (Food) Qayyum Qudrat told this correspondent that wheat had been recovered in 46 raids conducted by the department officials in three districts.

He said 15 cases were also registered against hoarders and those who were smuggling wheat out of the district.

He said 20, 18 and eight raids were conducted in districts of Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan, respectively.
