TOBA TEK SINGH: A young girl was murdered for honour on Saturday in Pirmahal village Chak 750-GB.

A first information report registered by the Arrouti police on the complaint of Razia Sultana, mother of deceased girl Rabia Sonia, under sections 302, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code, said Rabia had contracted love marriage with Jamshed Ali, of Khanewal, a few weeks ago with the consent of her father, Ghulam Farid, who faked reconciliation with Rabia and persuaded her to visit her parents.

When she visited them on Friday, Farid Marth and his five relatives - Abdul Ghafoor, Ijaz Mahmood, Sajid Nawaz, Nausher Ali and Ameer Khan - beat her with wooden sticks. When she became unconscious, they strangled her.

The police shifted the body to the Pirmahal tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital for an autopsy and were conducting raids to arrest the accused persons.

BODY: The body of a minor girl was recovered from the Gogera branch canal in the Gojra area.

According to the Gojra Saddar police, the body was spotted by a villager who informed the police. The police shifted the body to the Gojra THQ Hospital for an autopsy.

Till the filing of the report, the deceased could not be identified.
