TAXILA: A court in Hassanabdal sentenced a man to death in a murder case.The additional sessions court also fined Tariq Mehmood Rs0.5 million after he was found guilty of murdering Mohammad Nazakat and injuring Farman Ali in Pathargarh village in the limits of Hassanabdal police over a land dispute on April 4, 2014.

Meanwhile, three persons were killed and two others injured in separate incidents in the limits of Attock and Taxila police on Sunday.

Police said bodies of two persons were recovered from a property dealing office located near Teenmela Chowk in Attock. Later, they were identified as 55-year-old Malik Aabid and Ishtiaque, 41, both property dealers by profession. Police said the bodies had no injury or bullet marks and during preliminary medical examination it was found that their death was caused by consuming poisonous food or drink.

The actual cause of death would be ascertained after receiving the autopsy reports from Lahore.

In the second incident, a motorcyclist was killed and his two friends were injured when a dumper hit them on Khanpur Road in the limits of Taxila police.

Police sources said Zeeshan Saeed along with his friends Zubair and Danial was coming back on his motorcycle from Khanpur Dam when the accident occurred. Zeshan died on the spot while his friends were injured critically.
