QUETTA: Senator Danesh Kumar of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has said the people helping the poor will always be remembered for their services to humanity.

Speaking during a function here on Tuesday, at which food items provided by the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation were distributed among the low-income media workers, he said that providing food items to the deserving people in Ramazan was a great service.

Senator Kumar said that the provincial government had resolved the issue of allotment of land for the Journalist Colony and steps were being taken to execute the project.

He said that sacrifices rendered by the journalists of Balochistan in the line of duty would always be remembered.

He said that the Jam Kamal-led coalition government believed in freedom of the press and had imposed no restriction on the media.

Speaking on the occasion, Quetta Press Club’s president Abdul Khaliq Rind said that efforts would continue to resolve the issues of journalists and to provide maximum facilities to them. The press club would continue to extend help to the low-income media workers and journalists, he added.

Former president of the club Raza-ur-Rehman and BAP leader Robina Shah also spoke on the occasion.
