GUJAR KHAN: Four constables of Gujar Khan police were suspended by city police officer on Saturday.

According to the details, a video of policemen went viral on social media in which policemen could be seen getting packets of subsidised sugar without following the queue.

Assistant Commissioner Gujar Khan Mrs Hira Rizwan, taking notice of the video, directed Chief Officer Municipal Committee to inquire into the matter and submit a report before evening.

Findings of the inquiry report said that a policeman came to sugar packing area in bazaar and asked the worker to immediately give four packs of sugar to him and his other three colleagues as they cannot wait in queue due to their duty.

The worker handed over 8kg of sugar to the policemen who were standing outside the tent of Ramazan Bazaar.

The privately hired worker Yasir was fired from the duty for illegal act, the inquiry report said.

CPO Ahsan Younis immediately took notice of the issue and the constables, Riyasat, Ali Raza, Shakeel and Zahid were suspended.

CPO Ahsan said no policeman would be allowed to wrongly use his authority. Rawapindi police believes in self-accountability and appropriate action would be taken against the wrongdoing of the constables, CPO Ahsan added.
