Fencing of Islamabad expressway to complete by June 30: CDA

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday decided to complete fencing on both sides of Islamabad Expressway by the end of June.

The decision was made at a meeting held to review the work.

Te meeting was informed that the plan was to fence the highway from Faizabad to Koral. The project will be completed by June 30. All cemeteries along the expressway will also be fenced. So far, work on 12 km has been completed.

Fences are also being erected on the hills of Margalla and work has started from Noorpur Shahan.

The member engineering also informed the meeting about the ongoing work on Margalla Road.

He said the terminal point of D-12 section where an overpass would be constructed at a cemetery would be finalised within two weeks. As no land is being acquired form GT Road to D-12, this section will be completed this year.
