KHAIRPUR MIRS, Oct 22: Six people were killed by the gang of bandit Ghazi Khan Jagirani in Katcha area of the Gulo Siyal police station on Saturday. All the six villagers were kidnapped on Friday to avenge the killing of an alleged dacoit and shot dead with Kalashnikov before being thrown at Fatah Mohammad-Jo-Dhoro (lake).

Those killed were identified as Mohammad Aslam alias Mahi, 25, son of Bhagiyal; Mithal, 35, son of Haji Kandhro; Jameel, 18, son of Ali Sher; Fareed, 25, son of Sabul; Talib, 32, son of Dodo, and Atta Mohammad, son of Jadul Kandhro.

The Gulo Siyal police of the Gambat taluka on Saturday morning received information about the incident.

A tense situation prevailed in the Tando Masti and Ahmedpur police areas.

The district administration called out Rangers in the morning to help police in controlling the situation, particularly in Wali Mohammad Kandhro village.

The bodies were taken to the RHC Ripri for post-mortem in police mobiles from Katcha area but doctors and other staff of health centre disappeared. Later, the bodies were taken to the Gambat taluka hospital.

Ali Mohammad and Jumman Kandhro, relatives of the deceased, alleged that five motorbikes had also been hijacked from the area and the killing of six people was completely police negligence.

The Sukkur DIG, at a meeting held with TPOs at the Gambat police station, said that an operation against the dacoits would be launched.

District Nazim Niaz Hussain Shah, Gambat Taluka Nazim Sirkar Hussain Shah and Kingri Taluka Nazim Zaheeruddin Ghumro visited Wali Mohammad Kandhro village and two other villages and condoled with the relatives of the dead.
