OKARA: The city B-Division police have registered a case against six people for manufacturing cigarettes of a fake brand.

According to the FIR, a private tobacco company on Swabi Road, Mardan manufactures CAFE cigarettes bearing registered trade mark No 369388. It also has protected its label design artistic work through copyrights No F21-2064/2019 at the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan.

The company complained that a fake company was preparing substandard cigarettes having the same name, colour and design. The fake company operated from Khalid Town godown, it said.

On the report of complainant company director Zakir Khan, a case against Salman and Meerwan of Sheikhupura besides four other suspects was registered under sections 482, 483, 486, 487 of the PPC and section 66 of The Copy Right Ordinance 1962.

RAPE: Police have registered a case against a man for raping a six-year-old boy at Kot Sher Khan village.

The FIR said the complainant, the father of the girl, returned home and learnt that his son had disappeared. He frantically searched for the boy and reached a deserted place where he found a man raping his son.

The Basirpur police registered a case under section 376 of the PPC.
