GUJRANWALA: Police on Sunday arrested a bridegroom and one of his friends after a minor girl suffered injuries in an aerial firing at his wedding ceremony in Baghbanpura.

According to police, a 10-year-old girl was standing on her rooftop to see a Mehandi event when friends of bridegroom resorted to aerial firing. A bullet hit the girl, causing her critical injuries.

Police have arrested the bridegroom and his friend and recovered weapon from his procession.

City police officer (CPO) Sarfraz Ahmad said the government had banned aerial firing.
