KARACHI: A Karachi police spokesperson on Monday said that an “unpleasant incident” between policemen and Navy personnel in Mauripur area was being probed by officials concerned.

“The concerned officials are thoroughly conducting inquiry into the incident,” said the spokesperson, adding that “every aspect is being assessed. Departmental action would be taken against the personnel responsible for this unpleasant incident.”

Certain elements in social media were trying to give “wrong colour” to it, which was rejected by the Karachi police. These elements were conspiring to create misunderstandings between institutions.

“Supremacy of law and respect for institutions is incumbent upon all of us,” concluded the police statement.
